ONE FOR CABINET SECRETARY EDUCATION

MATIANGI THE RIGHT MAN FOR THE JOB The narrative that the burning of our schools is due to the stringent new rules imposed by cabinet secretary for Education, hon. Fred Matiang’i is a fallacy. So sad that former prime minister too, opted to apportion blame to the CS. It is absolutely preposterous to claim, a few rules the government incepted to curtail cheating and promote quality and standards of education is now the matchstick striking the schools ablaze. When the former prime minister and proponents choose to coerce the government into restoring the old order of cheating as disproved by investigations into the sickening nationwide exam cheating, in last year’s examinations; You wonder if those against CS Matiang’i are really honest , or are just up   to gain some cheap political mileage. Politicizing the torching of schools is the worst mistake politicians and wannabes are making. Extension of third term by just one week, restricting movements in and out of school by non-

KAPENGURIA SEVEN

REST IN PEACE FALLEN KAPENGURIA SEVEN. My deepest condolences to the bereft families of seven slain gallant, patriotic officers in Kapenguria. This is an article I wrote on the daily nation last year April last year. I have just read it again and I can’t help being remorseful. Police officers go through a lot.   It is sad that by trying to uphold the law, they paid with their dear lives. The officers resolve to remand in custody a man suspected of links with Alshabaab terror group, led to their encounter with the brutal gun Burrell. It is completely ridiculous and preposterous to blame the police officers for their own death and to concoct somehow a political narrative out of this unfortunate occurrence.    Of course the police know better that apart from protecting the lives of the masses, their own security is paramount. Even within the disciplined police service. Such isolated cases of disgraceful acts from rouge police officers will always occur. Radicalization is a mu

IEBC NOT READY FOR JUBILEE ELECTION AMENDMENTS

Roselyn Akombe yesterday expressed her fears and shock over what Senator Murkomen said legal reforms pre-repeat elections. She said if a new legal regimen is used to administer elections, they( IEBC) will be compelled to adjust their training model for IEBC staff, the result being need for more time to prepare. Jubilee is planning to make it mandatory for votes recount in case of a dispute. This immunizes incumbent governments from culpability in case ballot stuffing is done. Remember incumbent government can collude with ballot paper printing firm to secretly print extra ballots ostensibly for rigging purposes. They also seek to trim the powers of the IEBC Commission chair. This only means the Chairman will be subject to manipulation by the government. Apart from these, they also intend to adopt Lady Justice Njoki's dissention that numbers represent the will of the people more than the processes producing those numbers. Literally Njoki argued that it is the

WHY DISSENTING OPINIONS WERE POLITICAL.

Njoki Ndungu and Jackton Ojwangs' disparage on the majority opinion as ruled by Lady Justice Philomena Mwilu, Justices David Maraga, Smoking Wanjala and Isaac Lenaola, only confirms theirs were mere political rulings argued legally. It can be argued their detailed judgement which was more of a lecture or legal harangue than a court judgement had a political impetus as it curculated around decrying the majority ruling. What the two judges read as their detailed rulings were somewhat akin to a thesis on how the majority opinion can be wrong. Instead of articulating their judgement and cause why, they deviated to gathering enormous arguments and counter arguments that could rebut the majority ruling. If they were honest which in my opinion they were not, they could have stuck to their lanes. It behooved them to enumerate on the basis of their judgements and not why the dissenting opinion -in this context- were not appropriate a judgement to be adopted. Using a plethora of reference

WHY PETITIONS AGAINST PHILOMENA AND LENAOLA IS A POLITICAL WARFARE.

On the eve of the presidential petition by Raila and other versus IEBC,Chebukati,UhuruKenyatta and Other, Fazul who it emerged was discontinued from Egerton University hastily took to deregister KHRC(Kenya human rights commission) and Africa centre for open governance(AFRICOG), which were strategic observers in the recently nullified August presidential poll. This autocratic act obviously was not fronted by Fazul himself but more powerful forces bent at ensuring a presidential election petition would neither be possible nor be strong enough to annul the reelection of president Kenyatta. In the course of an insidious suppression of  a possible petition. Maina Kiai was frustrated as he traveled outside the country, principally because he is one of the directors of the KHRC. It is surprising how Fazul hasn't publicized anything concerning this new NGO, Angaza empowerment network, which through its director Derrick Maliku Ngumu has filled a petition seeking an ouster of two Supreme

WHY DEMONSTRATIONS OUTSIDE SUPREME COURT ARE POLITICALLY INSTIGATED

WE WANT BARABBAS, CRUCIFY JESUS What is happening at the Supreme court is exactly what the Jews did the day Jesus was delivered to Pontius Pilate by Herod. These religious bigots thought they were defending God, to the extend they opted God(Son) to be killed on the account of their own blood. Yet Pilate -whose wife knew Jesus as a Just man, counselled him  not to partake in the sins of the jews- knowing Jesus was innocent had to wash his hand according to the tradition of the Jews to stamp his non involvement in the Jewish decision to crucify Christ and free a scoundrel called Barrabbas. Just like Jesus asked, "I was with you daily and you witness I never taught anything contrary to God, why do you want kill me?".  If I may ask, WHY DEMONSTRATE TODAY WHEN THE DETAILED JUDGEMENT IS BEING READ? While all that time since September 1st they were not demonstrating. Why didn't they demonstrate any other day because according to me if they were to IMPEDE THE JUDGEMENT then i

PETITION TO OUST JUSTICE DAVID MARAGA

NGUNJIRI WAMBUGU'S PETITION WAS A SCHEME TO WOO KISII VOTES. I think it behoves me to clarify this misconception. Ngunjiri Wambugu's petition to oust Justice  David Maraga is not the Jubilee strategy to trim judicial powers or to  intimidate the court system. Although it is logical to adopt such argument, considering the backlog of petitions in court which could turn tables in the tyranny of numbers. Contrastingly, I feel Ngunjiri, who is obviously speaking on behalf of the Jubilee party, and other mandarins deliberately orchestrated this debate on CJ ouster ostensibly to hoodwink the Abagusii community, am afraid to say. The debate will become an effective propaganda narrative that will try to bring irate kisiis back onto the Jubilee frying pan Already there has been demonstrations reported in  kisii land as a result of filling the petition. What followed? Jubilee army, from bloggers to supporters to luminaries and hecklers came out guns blazing. They distanced themselve

IEBC IS NOT EZRA CHILOBA AND EZRA CHILOBA IS NOT IEBC

IEBC is a constitutional independent commission. It is not synonymous to Ezra Chiloba, Tororey, Kasait, Muhati or Chebukati. These are individual Kenyans who are separate entities from the commission. You can axe the entire Secretariat which bungled our democracy and replace them with a diametrically new breed of Kenyans with integrity and still IEBC will be IEBC. Just in case you didn't know, When the Supreme judges directed the First respondent to organize a fresh presidential election. The court by no means insinuated or implied Ezra Chiloba and his team should organize a new election. It was the IEBC not individuals. These individuals are not the IEBC though they at that time constituted it. These individuals though make up the IEBC are not themselves IEBC. You can sack them or sideline them but IEBC still will remain functional with the new team. Am saying that these individuals are not permanently in IEBC especially when they are to take responsibility for irregularities

HOW ATTACKING YOUR OPPONENT WORKS AGAINST YOU

HOW JUBILEE CAMPAIGNS FOR NASA Duale has encouraged a majority of Kenyans to send money to pay bill  991444 and your ID number as the account number. It takes men of resolve to stand on the side of truth, democracy and burry the culture of bungling presidential elections. All first and second liberation was never on a silver splatter. The third liberation even if it does not come through Raila will be the most contested compared to the former two. A new Kenya is an expensive venture, Kenyans must be ready to go the extra mile.  Kenyans will brace every hardship to the confines of  their pockets. Remember Some people like Samantha Pendo who knew nothing about elections paid with their dear lives. Many people have paid the price with their blood, it can't be equated to sending ksh 10 free of charge courtesy of Safaricom. I pity majority leader Adan Duale, he thinks he can take on Raila as his equal in a duel but every time he speaks about Odinga, the latter gains lots of p

THE EMERGENCE OF TUMBOCRACY.

A SPATE IN POLITICS OF THE STOMACH. Tumbocracy is a fairly new term that has cropped up in the midst of stomach politics by politicians who have in one way or another found themselves between a rock and hard place after they were unexpectedly ousted from the Political center stage. Lamenting the money they lost in campaigns, they can't resist the temptation to jump ship in order to fill their hungry stomachs. Some men are blessed with an undying spirit. Omar Hassan believes he can defeat Hassan Joho to become Mombasa governor in a repeat election. Try to think what our teachers taught us in form one geography. When you see an army of ants across the paths or a flock of birds high in the atmosphere then you know the rainy season is here.  I think there are so many ways of defecting from NASA to Jubilee without you being noticed to be doing, "politics of the stomach" also known as "jodong aichism". Omar Hassan seems to have been traded at a fair price but h

WHY IEBC SECRETARIAT SHOULD BE DISBANDED.

WHY IEBC SECRETARIAT SHOULD BE DISBANDED Those who attended the presidential petition hearings must have been treated to a legal drama. There was verbal drama from Senior counsel Paul muite’s legal mwahahaa, when he sought to justify IEBCs decline to allow National super alliance, the Jubilee and the court; access to the commissions server data base. Learned Muite claimed the commissions servers were in Europe and as such they had to wait for the Europeans to wake up and switch on the servers due to timeline differences. The lurid vignette evidence adduced in court by the petitioner could not be rubbished or challenged by the defense. Hell broke loose when the Attorney general decided to join the case as amicus curiae. In a legal hoity-toity, the attorney general sought to underscore the need to make the constitution the boundary within which elections must be held. Immediately I heard the attorney general attempt to underscore the strictness of the constitution on election
