WRITTING THE ORBITUARY OF AGRICULTURE BY THE KRA

WRITING THE ORBITUARY OF AGRICULTURE.
The KRA's intent to start taxing peasant farmers is quite an obnoxious idea. A step backward in the wrong direction.
Farming as a basic industry and backborne of the kenyan industry, absorbs over 75% of the kenyan labour force. In general , being the largest foreighn exchange earner notwithstanding, agriculture is not as attractive an occupation like other white collar jobs.
Owing to its non-attractiveness to the fresh college graduates and the youth as a whole, agriculture ails from neglect and abhorrence. It consequently needs rebranding and protectionalism from the government. Being a biological activity charaterised by a higher  digree of uncertainity and perpetual vulnerability to the extremes of nature. Agriculture is faced with more challenges than its counterparts like service and manufucturing industries hence requires preferential protectionalism.
Instead of taxing peasant farmers, The government should formulate policies that excempt peasant farmers from such tax levies. Measures should be put in place to disseminate more power onto the hands of the farmer through technical support, subsidies for inputs and wavers for tax levies and input import duties. Such initiatives can lure more people into farming, ultimately improving the overall macro-economy. The KRA should not be desperate . Instead it ought to strive to collect in wholesome the huge tax that is evaded by the largest , supposed to be taxpayers.

The Reasons for the Rebellion of 1837 in Upper Canada

The Reasons for the Rebellion of 1837 in Upper Canada INTRODUCTION There was neither big revolution nor dependence war in the history of Canada. The Rebellion of 1837 was the first and the only one revolt with certain scale, which occupies an important position in Canada history. In The Rising in French Canada 1837 , Joseph Schull indicates that the Rebellion of 1837 is the mirror of the conflicts among developing national and political philosophy, different life styles. It’s a test for the people and leaders of the country. There were two armed uprisings of 1837 which took place in the lower and Upper Canada respectively. In the lower Canada which was ethnically heterogeneous, comprising both the French and English colonialists; the revolt was due to political ethno-exclusivity. The colonial administration treated the two factions with discrimination. It favored the English colonialists and neglected the voices of the French colonialists. However, in the Upper Canada, t...

ELECTIONS ARE EVIL HENCE THE SHEDDING OF BLOOD

THE TROUBLE WITH KENYAN ELECTIONS The current legal stalemate bedeviling the country can be attributed to reluctance on the part of Kenyan institutions to adhere to the rule of law. The chief culprit is the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission and the government. Jubilee party has merged with the state so that the country is not ruled by the Jubilee government but by the Jubilee party. The party even controlling an independent IEBC This diabolic precedence started way back in 2013 when Jubilee, not in a free and fair manner, rigged their way to statehouse.   The Supreme Court then did not make satisfactory findings, though the petitioner accepted the verdict. Since then the party had been choreographing another rigging scheme. Although democracy entails the decision of the majority to prevail, Jubilee has taken advantage to exercise tyranny. The government rules its own way independent of the wishes of the people. Even annihilating and trampling the law more o...

MONEY MAKES MAN MAD

Money is the exact opposite of the Holy spirit. Money changes people. When a poor person finally gets money, the person changes like a snake that sheds it's exo-skeleton or like a caterpillar that becomes a butterfly or a moth. The moth can never remember it's Caterpillar life.  Wait! Almost everyone who was not borne in a flood of money. Some men immediately start to think, they can be sponsors or even to the extreme end, add onto themselves more wives and concubines. Some men all of a sudden fall out of love with the women who stood with them at their lowest height below poverty level.  The worse though are women. when a woman who had not known money comes to find good money in the palm of her hands. Immediately she compulsively feels, " I don't need a man. Where can I take a man. I am independent. I can pay my rent, buy any clothe I want, I can buy a car and do everything I want. No I don't need a man."  That is when a married woman stops ...
