ON THE NAIROBI GOVERNORSHIP

ON THE BATTLE FOR THE NAIROBI GURBENATORIAL SEAT
Nairobi being the focal point of all the county politics, the only county with the most number of aspirants. The problem is that Nairobi is like a hot cake, everyone wants to have a bite, and it’s yummy but too hot for the mouth. Save for swallowing

The entrance of water and sanitation cabinet secretary Eugene Wamalwa is a well calculated political move by the Jubilee power brokers. Apparently the largest community in Nairobi or is it in Kibira- the Luyha community- are being positioned in the Jubilee frying pot. It is funny that the ODM political rebels united clandestinely with their stray Jubilee counterparts are being made a false promise of capturing the Nairobi gubernatorial seat.

The Jubilee camp alone is full of spirants eying the same position from, Johnson Sakaja, to Margaret Wanjiru to Mike Sonko Mbuvi to Dennis waweru, Anne Waiguru, just to mention but a few . It is almost impossible that Eugene Wamalwa can be handed over, on a silver platter, this post despite opting to dissolve his party prematurely to impress and perhaps endear himself to the Jubilee power brokers.

The sad truth is that the Luyha community has no portion of the Jubilee cake, may be the biblical under table crumbles that Lazarus ate happily. The endorsement of water minister as the preferred jubilee contestant for Nairobi governorship is a political gimmick, ostensibly meant to hoodwink Luyha voters to voting for President Uhuru Kenyatta. And has nothing to do with Eugene’s ambitions, ethnic inclusivity or building a party with a nationwide outlook and structure. Unfortunately Nirobians are no longer fools to be carried as fools.

SUPREME COURT RULING

MY SUPREME COURT JUDGMENT I am not a lawyer and as such I am only qualified to render my layman’s submission to the court of public opinion, where one does not apply to be “amicus curiae.” In the court of public opinion everybody is both a lawyer and judge and so I can adduce my evidence confidently and make a ruling on my evidence. I want to usurp this opportunity to tell my one page judgment as Chief Justice David Maraga advised. The Chief Justice invited the public to read the Supreme Court judgment and subsequently make individual ruling.             Guys I tried to look at Chebukati trying by hook and crook to exonerate the commissioners from the mess and implicating the secretariat. Chebukati clarified they just assumed office a few months ago, coming into an old secretariat. Although the summary ruling of the Supreme Court judgment did not point out the culpability of the first and second respondents, my opinion is; ...

A FEW PICKS ABOUT VALENTINE AND BROKEN HEARTS.

I have been following on Valentine's day heartbreaking escapades of what sacrifices guys made for the sake of love, and am left in a reality limbo. The question that rings in my mind is is if indeed love exists? A man braced himself for a two year jail term sentence for an offence which was perpetrated by his lover. Sadly the girl who stole from her father a good amount of money went ahead to incriminate her husband after they had agreed the husband would come in to stand in for his wife in prison. By the time the guy was released from incarceration his love had left him. In a separate incidence a lady boycotted their wedding, broke a relationship two days to the wedding, fled and eloped with a white German man. It happened that two days to the wedding, one of the brides maid called the groom who was far from the wedding venue, telling him the wedding was bound not to be. The groom got concerned,,travelled down south to interrogate the issue one on one. When he found the bride,...

The Reasons for the Rebellion of 1837 in Upper Canada

The Reasons for the Rebellion of 1837 in Upper Canada INTRODUCTION There was neither big revolution nor dependence war in the history of Canada. The Rebellion of 1837 was the first and the only one revolt with certain scale, which occupies an important position in Canada history. In The Rising in French Canada 1837 , Joseph Schull indicates that the Rebellion of 1837 is the mirror of the conflicts among developing national and political philosophy, different life styles. It’s a test for the people and leaders of the country. There were two armed uprisings of 1837 which took place in the lower and Upper Canada respectively. In the lower Canada which was ethnically heterogeneous, comprising both the French and English colonialists; the revolt was due to political ethno-exclusivity. The colonial administration treated the two factions with discrimination. It favored the English colonialists and neglected the voices of the French colonialists. However, in the Upper Canada, t...
